Readers asked for it. And they got it.
Coupon books are back this Sunday in the Southeast Missourian.
Two inserted coupon catalogs could save readers more than $290 on everyday items.
The Procter & Gamble catalog contains $133 in coupon savings on cleaning products and health and beauty products. It is the first of nine P&G booklets that will appear in the Southeast Missourian this year.
The other coupon book from Red Plum contains $160 in coupons for shampoo, toothpaste, snacks, cleaning products, dog food, nail color and makeup. It will be inserted at least twice a month.
"Between these two coupon books combined, a newspaper subscriber could cut well over $5,000 a year from their household budget," said advertising director Donna Denson. "Couple these coupons with advertised products in the inserts from area retailers and grocers, and shoppers can save even more."
Denson said readers have been requesting more coupons in their daily paper. She said the Coupon Queen column that appears in every Wednesday newspaper will also help readers maximize savings.
