Both directions of Interstate 55 in southern Cape Girardeau County and northern Scott County were closed for an hour Monday morning as emergency crews worked to clear a crash at mile marker 88.
Trooper Clark Parrot with the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 6 a.m. when a southbound GMC pickup ran off the left side of the road and struck five median posts. The driver of the truck was not injured. Northbound lanes were reopened just before 7 a.m. and southbound lanes opened at about 8 a.m.
