SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a regional planning meeting today in Sikeston. The Missouri Advanced Planning initiative is designed to bring community leaders from across a 25-county region together to discuss what improvements should be made to transportation systems. The 19-member Southeast Regional Working Group will meet from 3 to 5 p.m. at the District 10 MoDOT office at 2675 N. Main St. in Sikeston. Area members include Steve Girard of Velo Girardeau in Cape Girardeau, Bollinger County Presiding Commissioner Wayne Johnson, Tommy Petzoldt of the East Perry Lumber Co. in Frohna, Mo., and Dr. David Scala, superintendent of Cape Girardeau Public Schools.
