In an effort to gather public opinion on transportation projects and improvements, the Missouri Department of Transportation is holding three open-house meetings in the Southeast District.

According to a news release issued by MoDOT, the meetings will center on Constitutional Amendment 7, a ballot measure that would temporarily raise the state's sales tax by three-quarters of a cent. Voters will decide the issue Aug. 5. If passed, all proceeds from the tax would go toward needed transportation improvements across the state. According to the news release, the amendment would include the creation of a project list before the election, so Missourians can see what their tax dollars would fund.
