SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an open-house community briefing to discuss upcoming Safe & Sound bridge improvement projects in Scott County. The briefing will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 15 at MoDOT's Southeast District Office in Sikeston. The Safe & Sound program began with 13 bridge projects scheduled for Scott County. Six of the projects have been completed, and the remaining seven are expected to be completed in 2011. Upcoming improvements include:n Route W District 3 Main Ditch
* Route P Whitewater River
* Highway 91 Little River Drainage Ditch No. 1
* Highway 77 Caney Creek
* Route EE Little River Drainage Ditch No. 1
* Route EE Little River Drainage Ditch No. 11
* Route H Interstate 55
Work on the remaining Scott County bridges could begin as early as March.
