SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an open-house community briefing from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday to discuss an upcoming bridge project on Route H in New Madrid County. The briefing will be held at Matthews City Hall, 100 Main St. MoDOT plans to replace the Route H bridge over Otter Slough with a new structure that will be about four feet wider than the existing bridge. It will have lower bridge rails to better accommodate agricultural equipment. Construction is expected to take place in summer 2013.
