SIKESTON -- The following road projects are planned by the Missouri Department of Transportation. Drivers are asked to use caution while traveling in the area.

For project details, call the Missouri Department of Transportation's Customer Service Center at 888-275-6636.

Route B closed

Route B, between Mississippi County roads 436 and 416, will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.

MoDOT crews plan to replace an underground pipe.

Highway 164 bridge work

In about two weeks, the contractor hired by MoDOT is expected to start work on Highway 146 west of the Elk Chute Bridge. The crews are working east of the bridge now.

"While the bridge work is ongoing, traffic is reduced to one lane and controlled by temporary traffic signals," said project manager Eric Krapf. "We want the commuters and farmers in the area to be aware of the reduced width in case they need to make arrangements or move equipment before the next bridge work begins."

Krapf said work on the western bridge is likely to take at least two weeks to complete. MoDOT will alert drivers before the change in work location.

Lanes reduced on I-55

Concrete repairs require lane reductions on Interstate 55, two miles south of Route A. The work started Monday and will be finished by 5 p.m. Friday.

U.S. 67 repairs

U.S. 67, from Old Orchard Road to the Bonne Terre exit in Francois County, will be reduced to one lane starting at 8 a.m. today.

MoDOT crews are set to make concrete repairs, finishing work by 4 p.m. Wednesday.
