The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a community briefing today to discuss upcoming bridge projects in Perry County. Department staff will discuss two projects on Route 51, the Bois Brule Creek Bridge at McBride and the Chester Bridge over the Mississippi River. Both projects could begin as early as spring 2010. The Bois Brule Creek project includes a bridge deck replacement. Work will be done in stages and is expected to continue for 90 days. The Chester Bridge project includes patching and sealing of the bridge deck. It is expected to be completed by summer 2010 and costs will be shared with the state of Illinois. The meeting will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Perry Park Center at 800 City Park Drive in Perryville.
