KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A northwest Missouri woman is sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for embezzling more than $427,000 from her employer of 32 years.
Sixty-year-old Margaret Plowman of Lathrop was also ordered to pay full restitution to Everett Quarries in Plattsburg. Plowman pleaded guilty Aug. 2 to interstate transportation of stolen property and was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Ortrie D. Smith.
The money was stolen over a four-year period that ended when she was fired in 2006.
Plowman admitted that she embezzled about $285,000 from Everett's petty cash fund, and wrote $142,000 in unauthorized checks.
Everett operates six quarries in Clinton County.
