CASSVILLE, Mo. (AP) -- The body of a newborn infant is found in a southwest Missouri home after a 16-year-old girl was admitted to a hospital complaining of a miscarriage.

Barry County Sheriff Mick Epperly said Monday the body was found in a plastic bag in a mobile home in the small town of Seligman on the Arkansas state line.

Investigators said the 16-year-old girl was taken to a hospital Thursday for heavy bleeding and reported a miscarriage.

The hospital in Bentonville, Ark., called police to say that the girl may have given birth before coming in.
