ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- A St. Louis-area man has been sentenced to six years in prison for breaking into a church freezer and stealing ice cream.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported 25-year-old Andrew Steven Jung of St. Charles was sentenced Wednesday.
The crime happened in March 2013 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Charles. Investigators responding to a break-in found a freezer had been damaged and ice cream had been taken.
Jung was spotted walking about three blocks away -- intoxicated and with ice cream on his face and clothes. Police say he told them in a videotaped interview that he was an "ice cream junkie."
Jung pleaded guilty Wednesday to burglary. Prosecutors agreed to drop other charges.
