JACKSON -- At least 50 Cape Girardeau Countians will receive football tickets to Missouri University's opening football game of the 1993 season.
"Fifty tickets will be available in your county for families directly affected by the flood," said Ron Turner, interim vice president for University Outreach and Director of Cooperative extension at MU. "We know some families did not have a vacation this summer due to flooding, and although a day of MU football is no substitution for a vacation, we'd like to offer a day of fun as indication of admiration for the `true grit' demonstrated by so many people."
The Sept. 11 game will be against the University of Illinois.
The Cape County tickets are available from the Extension Center at Jackson, 243-3581.
