Two Missourians, including Cape Girardeau native Jack Oliver, have been named to top Republican National Committee posts.
Ann Wagner, chairman of the Missouri Republican Party, will co-chair the RNC with Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore.
The Dallas Morning News has reported that Oliver will be deputy chairman. His father, John Oliver Jr., is a Cape Girardeau attorney.
Wagner, 38, lives in St. Louis with her husband, Ray, and three children. In 1999, she became the first woman elected to chair the Missouri GOP.
Oliver, 32, was George W. Bush's campaign finance manager and will run the national committee's day-to-day operation.
Oliver graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1991, was the deputy finance manager for Sen. Christopher Bond's re-election campaign in 1992 and had worked for Sen. John Ashcroft. He received his law degree from the University of Missouri.
Oliver had no comment on the newspaper report.
