Missouri Treasurer Bob Holden will speak Oct. 12 at the Cape Girardeau County Democrats' annual Fall Festival.
The event will be held at the Deerfield banquet hall.
As treasurer, Holden oversees the state's banking and unclaimed property, manages the state's $2.5 billion investment portfolio and administers Missouri First Linked-Deposit programs. He is running for reelection in November.
Holden grew up on a farm in south central Missouri and graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a degree in political science.
Before being elected treasurer, Holden served as assistant to the state treasurer, a state representative for three terms and as an administrative assistant in the St. Louis office of U.S. Rep. Richard Gephardt.
