SCOTT CITY -- Jackson and Leopold pitchers stood out during last weekend's 20th annual Missouri State Knights of Columbus Horseshoe Tournament hosted by the St. Joseph Knights of Columbus Hall. Three Leopold teams and one Jackson team claimed state championships during the weekend. SCOTT CITY -- Jackson and Leopold pitchers stood out during last weekend's 20th annual Missouri State Knights of Columbus Horseshoe Tournament hosted by the St. Joseph Knights of Columbus Hall.

Three Leopold teams and one Jackson team claimed state championships during the weekend. Jackson's Kevin Kluesner and Todd Reiminger won the Class H championship and Jasonians Michael Elfrink and Bernard Beussink took third in Class B competition.

Leopold pitchers were even more dominant. A.J. Eftink and Scott Page won the Class E championship, while Tina Elftink and Karen Trankle and Glenda Jansen and Carolyn Vandeven won the Women's Class C and Class D championships respectively.

Allen Holshouser and Andy Jansen took second in Class D and Phil and Darrel Vandeven took second in Class B action.

Teams from Ste. Genevieve and St. Charles captured top honors. Competition was held in eight men's classes and four women's classes.
