The Missouri State Highway Patrol was investigating an incident in which a man fled from the scene of a two-car crash that injured the driver of the other vehicle Tuesday night near Burfordville.
Trooper Clark Parrot said the crash occurred around 7:25 p.m. on Highway 34 when the driver of a northbound truck failed to yield while driving through an intersection. A westbound vehicle struck the truck on its right side. The driver of the truck fled on foot.
The driver of the westbound vehicle was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.
Wednesday morning the owner of the truck reported that his truck was stolen, Parrot said, and the highway patrol believes the thief was also the driver when the crash occurred.
Parrot said troopers were continuing the investigation Wednesday and that he anticipates an arrest. He did not have the name of the injured driver immediately available and would not release the name of the truck owner.
Parrot did not return a message left at his office Wednesday afternoon seeking an update on the investigation.
