DEXTER -- The medical community in Dexter just became larger and more unified.
In a matter of one week, Missouri Southern Healthcare (MSH) has dramatically increased the number of clinics and physicians available to serve the citizens of Dexter and the surrounding areas.
Missouri Southern Healthcare (MSH) recently announced the asset acquisition of Rehm Clinic. Under the agreement, MSH will begin managing the operations of the facility and will lease the building from Rehm Properties, L.L.C.
The clinic, located at 115 East Business Highway 60, will be welcoming two new primary care physicians, as well. Along with Dr. John T. Blair and Family Nurse Practitioner Pamela Klosterman, will be newly recruited family practice physicians, Dr. M. Timothy McVay and Dr. Michael C. Gaertner.
"At MSH, we know that patients want quality medical care closer to home," MSH's John Graves said. "Like the staff at MSH, Dr. Blair and Pam Klosterman know that practicing rural medicine is a blend of medical science and the art of creating relationships with the patients. We look forward to adding them and four new physicians to our Medical Staff in August."
Along with Drs. McVay and Gaertner, MSH will also be welcoming Dr. Karthik Mahedavaan and Dr. Rick Wirz.
"With these additions, Doctors' Park is completely occupied and now with the agreement with Rehm Clinic, that building is at capacity, as well," Graves said.
Dr. Mahedavan is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary diseases with specializations in sleep disorders and critical care while Dr. Wirz is a board eligible general surgeon specializing in gall bladder surgery, hernia surgery and breast biopsies.
"To many people, the addition of these new physicians may seem sudden," Graves said. "However, we have dedicated a great deal of time to developing our strategic plan and studying the health-care needs of Dexter and the surrounding communities. Like entrepreneurs of any industry know, adding more businesses will create a shopping destination in your hometown. It is like that with medicine.
The four new physicians will begin practice on Aug. 4.
