Missouri snowstorm a fast mover

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Snow advisories across Missouri are expiring as a fast-moving storm moves through Missouri, leaving varying amounts of snow and slippery driving conditions.

The storm Friday was expected to dump 3 to 5 inches of snow in northern Missouri, with lesser amounts toward central Missouri. The National Weather Service said a snow advisory for northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas would expire at noon CST.

The NWS said the snow advisory for an area north of St. Louis was set to expire at 3 p.m.

Forecasters say the storm will taper off from west to east in the late morning and early afternoon hours. Snow in southwest Missouri was not expected to stick.

Kansas City-area police reported dozens of accidents, mostly minor, during the morning rush.
