Polling places across Missouri will be open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, as voters decide whether to approve a tax increase that will provide $385 million in additional state funding for education.
Although there are a number of local issues across the state being decided, the tax proposal for education, known as Proposition B, is the only statewide issue.
In Cape Girardeau County, voters will be deciding whether to approve an emergency service fee on their telephone bills to fund an Enhanced 911 emergency telephone system.
Voters in the city of Cape Girardeau will be voting on whether to approve new 20-year franchise agreements with Union Electric for gas and electricity, and whether to have the City purchase the water system from U.E.
