KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The top officials from the universities of Missouri and Kansas planned to break bread as the Big 12 basketball tournament gets under way in Kansas City.
University of Missouri system President Gary Forsee scheduled a "get acquainted" meeting Wednesday with new Kansas Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little at a coffee shop on the Country Club Plaza.
University officials often use conference tournaments to meet their counterparts from other schools.
Missouri faced Nebraska in a first-round game Wednesday afternoon. Kansas has a first-round bye and will play Thursday against the winner of Wednesday's Colorado-Texas Tech game.
If both teams advance, the Tigers and Jayhawks would meet Friday in a semifinal game.
