KANSAS CITY -- State Rep. Larry Thomason was one of several state legislators honored last week by Missouri judges at their annual judicial conference in Kansas City.,

Supreme Court Chief Justice Ann Covington presented a plaque to Thomason, D-Kennett, for his "significant contributions to the advancement of the administration of justice in Missouri."

During the 1994 session, Thomason sponsored a measure allowing voters to establish a citizens' commission that would make decision about compensation for judges, legislators and statewide-elected officials.

He also worked on behalf of legislation that passed to establish an automated court plan and to promote the use of financial business records in court proceedings.

"Enforcement of Missouri law demands a strong and vital judiciary," Thomason said.

"I am pleased to have played a role in legislation this session which ensures a quality judicial system in this state."
