JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri voters may never know the full cost for Gov. Eric Greitens’s inaugural festivities, nor exactly how much big businesses and prominent individuals contributed to the event.

Greitens’ campaign adviser Austin Chambers said Friday specific fundraising and expenditure details will not be released.

A day earlier, the Republican governor said he had no plans to release anything beyond a list of 87 “benefactors” printed in his inaugural program, but he said he would be happy to talk about that with his inaugural committee.

Greitens inaugural events were organized through a not-for-profit that doesn’t have to disclose donations.

Former governors Matt Blunt and Bob Holden also used special committees for their inaugural festivities but voluntarily disclosed the total cost and how much each donor had given.
