A typical residential customer should save about $20, or 3 percent, for the remainder of the winter when compared to the rates in effect, the state Public Service Commission said Monday.

The change sets the natural gas rate at 46.3 cents per 100 cubic feet of gas, instead of the current 51.7 cents, the PSC said. About two-thirds of a customer's monthly bill reflects the wholesale cost of natural gas.
