The Mississippi River Valley Scenic Drive carves a path through Southeast Missouri as far south as Commerce and north to Perryville. Several rural communities and towns along the way will have festivals, music, dancing, crafts, living history events, camping and more. Cape Girardeau attractions such as the Red House, Glenn House, Cape River Heritage Museum, Crisp Museum at the River Campus, Fort D, Old St. Vincent's Catholic Church and Trail of Tears State Park will be open. There will be historic town tours in Altenburg, Jackson, Marble Hill, Brazeau, Commerce and Oak Ridge. For more information, call the Center for Regional History at 651-2555 or the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau at 800-777-0068. There was a misprint in the brochure for the hours for The Cat Ranch Art Guild. The hours for tours, arts and crafts are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
