Mississippi River bridge to be reduced

East- and westbound Highway 34/74 in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane Oct. 31 through Nov. 3 while Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform routine bridge maintenance. The bridge is the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge over the Mississippi River from Cape Girardeau to Illinois. Weather permitting, work will be done from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
