The Mississippi River is in flood stage in some Southeast Missouri counties, prompting a river flood warning and the closure of the ferry between Dorena, Mo., and Hickman, Ky.
Flooding the National Weather Service attributes to recent strong storms is minor. But Cape Girardeau, Scott and Perry counties in Missouri, as well as some Illinois counties, are under a flood warning. The river at Cape Girardeau stood at 32.75 feet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Flood stage is 32 feet.
The National Weather Service forecasts the river will reach 34.5 feet at Cape Girardeau by Saturday.
