Police officers in Sikeston, Missouri, found 8-year-old Alexander Phillips and his 6-year-old brother, Logan, on Friday morning after the two boys were presumed to be kidnapped by their father.
The Sikeston Department of Public Safety received a tip the two boys were walking with their father, Clarence "Eugene" Phillips, 38, near Malone Avenue and Edward Street near the border of Sikeston and Miner, Missouri.
The elder Phillips was found walking on Rogers Street in Miner and taken into custody. The boys later were found to be safe.
Miner police chief Chris Griggs said he believes the boys were unharmed. Sikeston police are investigating and may file charges against Clarence Phillips. Griggs said he was living in a camper in Miner.
The father told police he had just dropped the children off at their mother's home on Russell Street, a news release from the Sikeston Department of Public Safety stated.
On Thursday, someone saw Phillips pick up the two boys in a silver Dodge Ram pickup after they got off the school bus on Russell Street, the news release stated. Sikeston police say the father has no parental rights.
