SIKESTON, Mo. -- A 58-year-old man who walked away from Hunter Acres Nursing Home on April 14 is back in custody and under arrest.
According to Sikeston Department of Public Safety director Drew Juden, Glenn Miller was in the nursing home under a court order and violated the order when he left without permission of the court. A warrant for escape from commitment was then issued.
After tracking Miller to the Effingham, Ill., area, contact was lost until he was located in a hospital in Memphis, Tenn., Tuesday afternoon.
Detectives from Sikeston DPS worked with the hospital security and Shelby County, Tenn., Sheriff's office, coordinating Miller's arrest after his release from the hospital Tuesday.
Miller was to appear and waive extradition in Shelby County Court on Thursday. Scott County Sheriff's deputies were scheduled to bring him back to Sikeston Friday.
