A 15-year-old girl who had been missing for a month was found Thursday, Cape Girardeau Police said.
Amanda Kridelbaugh was brought home from Memphis, Tenn., where she had been with another teen-ager, Cpl. Kevin Orr said.
Details about why Kridelbaugh was missing were not made available.
Most missing persons cases in Cape Girardeau are cleared up more quickly than this, police had said.
She had last been seen at Central High School on Oct. 1. After school, she had called her mother, Julia Stanley, to let her know that she was going to a friend's that evening, Stanley said. But when Stanley called the girl's house, she was told the girl was not at home.
Allen Kridelbaugh, Amanda's father, had said earlier this week that publicity about his daughter being missing for a month had gotten people's attention. A friend who Kridelbaugh sees irregularly told him that he had seen Amanda walking across William Street a little more than two weeks ago."What got his attention was that it was early afternoon, and he thought that was early for her to be out of school," Kridelbaugh said.
This was not the first time Amanda had left home without warning, Stanley said. Prior to this, the longest time she had left without telling anyone was one week."She wasn't raised that way, but sometimes she can be so irresponsible," Kridelbaugh said.
