A Cape Girardeau woman who was reported missing over the weekend has been found.
Cpl. Adam Glueck, spokesman for the Cape Girardeau Police Department, said Leeann Hopson, 25, contacted police at 4:30 p.m. Monday to inform them she was safe and at her home at 1010 Jefferson Ave.
According to Glueck, Hopson said a friend had informed Hopson that she was reported missing, prompting Hopson to call police with information about her whereabouts. Hopson said in the police report that she left Saturday and has been staying at a friend's house.
A relative of Hopson had reported her missing Sunday evening when, after checking on her at her home, the family member noticed a large front window had been broken and blood smeared on a door and window. Glueck said Hopson told police Monday that a neighbor had cut her arm after breaking the window and banging on her door. No charges have been filed against the neighbor.
