The Jacksonian Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will sponsor the Miss Jackson pageants for girls and women ages 3 to 24, starting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Jackson High School Auditorium. The pageants are affiliated with the Miss Missouri and Miss America Pageants. Winner of the Miss Jackson Scholarship Pageant will represent Jackson at the Miss Missouri Scholarship Pageant, whose winner will represent Missouri at the Miss America Scholarship Pageant. The winner of the Miss Jackson Outstanding Teen Pageant will represent Jackson at the Miss Missouri Outstanding Teen Pageant, whose winner will represent Missouri at the Miss America Outstanding Teen Pageant. The scholarship and outstanding teen pageants are both directed under rules and regulations of the Miss America Scholarship program. The Miss Jackson Scholarship Fund, financed by area residents, merchants and businesses, was able to award over $1,500 in scholarships to the Miss Jackson pageant winner and runners-up last year. The Miss Jackson Outstanding Teen Pageant, Preteen Miss Jackson, Little Miss Jackson and Tiny Miss Jackson pageants award savings bonds and prizes donated by area businesses and financial institutions. Entry forms are available at Bank of Missouri, Precious Memories Bridal and Fashion Boutique or the Chamber of Commerce, all in Jackson.
