A Millersville man faces sexual misconduct charges after allegedly exposing himself to a female neighbor.
Dennis W. Jarvis faces three counts of sexual misconduct resulting from a series of incidents occurring from Sept. 9 to Friday, according to a probable-cause statement by Detective Jamie Malugen of the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department.
Jarvis, 47, pleaded not guilty to the charges Monday and the case was scheduled for a criminal setting at 2 p.m. on Oct. 6.
The complainant reported that she was taking her children to school the morning of Sept. 9, and observed Jarvis standing nude in his yard, the statement said.
She told police that she immediately directed her children's attention elsewhere.
The complainant reported another incident occurring Wednesday, and again Thursday, the statement said.
On one of the days, she told officers that Jarvis stepped out of the house wearing bikini underwear and retrieved a package from near his garage, the statement said.
On Friday, investigators set up a surveillance camera in a wooded area near Jarvis' residence in reference to the woman's complaints about his behavior. The camera captured Jarvis leaving his residence nude three separate times, each time holding his genitals and looking to see if anyone was around, the statement said.
During an interview at the sheriff's department, Jarvis confessed to walking out of his residence naked Friday, saying it was to "torment" the complainant, the statement said.
According to the sworn statement, Jarvis had a grudge against the complainant because he felt they bought some land out from under him.
If convicted, Jarvis faces from 30 days to six months in jail, or up to $500 in fines.
