Gary Miller, a professor of music at Southeast Missouri State University, will present a faculty pipe organ recital Nov. 10 at the First Presbyterian Church of Cape Girardeau, 235 Broadway.

The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The first half of the program will be devoted to masterworks of the Baroque period, including compositions by Dieterich Buxtehude and J.S. Bach.

The second half will feature works by French composers of the 20th century, including Mauric Durufle, Albert and Jehan Alain, and Marcel Dupre.

A native of Iowa, Miller holds degrees from the University of Northern Iowa, the University of Michigan and the Staatliche Hochschule fuer Musik in Cologne, Germany.

He has performed organ and harsichord recitals throughout the Midwest, and in Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands.

In addition to his teaching duties in the Department of Music at the university, Miller is the organist and music director for the First Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Southern Illinois Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

The recital is free and open to the public.
