Geoffrey Travis Choate graduated from advanced infantry training at Fort Benning, Ga. Choate began his career with the U.S. Army Reserve on his 17th birthday. He completed basic combat training with the third battalion 13th Infantry Regiment in Fort Jackson, S.C. He then completed his senior year at Meadow Heights High School in Patton and graduated in 2006. After graduation he signed on with the U.S. Army and attended AIT at Fort Benning. Choate completed his qualification for expert mortar, expert grenade and sharpshooter with second battalion 58th Infantry Regiment. His first duty station is in Hawaii with the 25th Infantry Regiment, Stryker Division. Choate is the son of Geoffrey Alex Choate of Sedgewickville, Mo., and grandson of Carl and Elaine Choate of Scott City.
