Ayers graduates from basic combat training
Army National Guard Pvt. Erica D. Ayers has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Ayers is the daughter of Felicia Ayers of Columbia, Mo., and granddaughter of Louise Ayers of Cape Girardeau. She is a 2001 graduate of David H. Hickman High School, Columbia.

Jackson man serving Operation Iraqi Freedom
Air Force 1st Lt. Adrian D. Meyer is currently deployed overseas at a forward-operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Meyer is a maintenance officer regularly assigned in Burlington, Vt. He is the son of Adrian J. and Darlene Meyer of Jackson. Meyer graduated in 1990 from Jackson High School and received a bachelor's degree in 2001 from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas.
