Tolson completes Navy basic training in Illinois

Navy Constructionman Recruit Seth I. Tolson, a 2005 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School, Anna, Ill., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Area men complete Marine Corps training

Marine Corps Pvt. Tyler L. Kinder and Pvt. Andrew J. McGee recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Calif. Kinder is the son of Sherry L. and Keith D. Kinder of Sikeston, Mo. McGee is the son of Billie J. Grindstaff of Marble Hill, Mo.

Sikeston man returns from Naval deployment

Navy Seaman Jeremy P. Wilcox, son of Patty Wilcox of Sikeston, Mo., and his fellow shipmates completed a scheduled deployment while assigned to the guided-missile cruiser USS Chosin, homeported in San Diego. USS Chosin conducted Maritime Security Operations and participated in exercise Bright Star 2005 along with France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Jordan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Wilcox is a 1998 graduate of Sikeston High School and joined the Navy in June 2004.
