Parker promoted to Petty Officer 3rd Class

Tara M. Parker, daughter of Martha V. and Gregory L. Roberts of Anna, Ill., recently was promoted to the rank of Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class while serving at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, Goose Creek, S.C. Parker is a 2002 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School of Anna, and joined the Navy in August 2004.

Area man promoted to private first class

Tyler A. Duvall has been promoted to the rank of private first class in the U.S. Army. Duvall is a mechanic assigned to the 5th Military Police Battalion, Kaiserslautern, Germany. He is the son of Pamela A. and stepson of Tony Johnson of Perryville. Duvall is a 2002 graduate of Perryville High School.
