Private graduates National Guard training

Pvt. Curtis Ackman has graduated from basic military training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla. He is assigned to the National Guard 1140th Engineers Brigade headquartered in Perryville, Mo., and Jackson, Mo. Ackman is a senior at Jackson High School. He is the son of David and Janet Ackman of Jackson.

Jackson grad finishes training at Lackland

Air Force Airman Gary Jones has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Barb Crites of Jackson, Mo., and Gary Jones of Perryville, Mo. Jones is a 2001 graduate of Jackson Senior High School.

Private reports for duty with Marine division

Marine Corps Pfc. Lucas Bollinger, son of Novena and James Bollinger of Burfordville, Mo., recently reported for duty with 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Bollinger is a 1998 graduate of Jackson High School in Jackson, Mo.

Recruit to report at Fort Leonard Wood

Mollie Gregory has joined the U.S. Army under the delayed entry program. Gregory, a 2000 graduate of Lewiston High School in Maine, will report to Fort Leonard Wood in Waynesville, Mo., for basic training. She is the daughter of Kristin Tardif of Lewiston, Maine, and Mike Gregory of Marble Hill, Mo.

Privates finish basic training at Marine depot

Three area recruits recently finished basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, Calif. They are:

Pvt. Ronald Gardiner, who is a 1999 graduate of Thomas W. Kelly High School in Benton, Mo.

Pvt. Matthew Stewart, who is the son of Markel Stewart of Commerce, Mo., and a 2001 graduate of Thomas W. Kelly High School in Benton, Mo.

Pvt. Eddie Clardy Jr., who is the son of Tammy and Eddie Clardy of Jackson, Mo., and a 1998 graduate of Jackson High School.
