Perryville grad finishes noncom academy
Air Force Tech. Sgt. Tina Balsman has graduated from the Air Force Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss. Balsman is an aircraft maintenance assignment supervisor assigned to Headquarters, Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Ill.
She is the daughter of Connie Picou of Perryville, Mo., and James Duvall of St. Genevieve, Mo. She is a 1987 graduate of Perryville High School.
Cox completes Army basic training
Army Pfc. Justin Cox has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga. Cox is the son of Agie Cox of Cape Girardeau. He graduated from Jackson High School in Jackson, Mo., this year.
Cape Central grad gets combat training
Army Reserve Pvt. Randol Morris Jr. has graduated from basic combat military training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla. He is the son of Randol and Marlene Morris of Cape Girardeau. Morris is a 2001 graduate of Cape Central High School.
Two airmen finish basic training in Texas
Air National Guard Airmen Drew Howard and Daniel Hartle have graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Howard is the son of Roy and Gail Howard of Jackson, Mo. He is a 2001 graduate of Jackson High School.
Hartle is the son of Perry and Cynthia Hazelwood of Jackson, Mo. He is a 2001 graduate of Jackson Senior High School.
Cargo specialist worked with recruiters
Spec. 4 Sean Lannom was temporarily working with local Army recruiters in the Cape Girardeau area through Friday. Lannom, who enlisted in the U.S. Army in June, is the son of Lanny and Elaine Lannom of Jackson, Mo. A 1995 graduate of Jackson High School, Lannom has completed eight weeks of advanced individual training at Fort Eustis, Va. His military occupational specialty is cargo specialist.
Carter working with local recruiters
Pvt. Travis Carter is temporarily working with local Army recruiters in the Cape Girardeau area through Wednesday. Carter, who enlisted in the U.S. Army in June, is the son of Benny Carter of McClure, Ill. A 2001 graduate of Shawnee High School, Carter has completed 14 weeks of advanced individual training at Fort Knox, Ky., and Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. His military occupational specialty is heavy construction equipment operator.
