Wehmeyer wins pilot rating after training
2nd Lt. Robert Bryan Wehmeyer graduated with the aeronautical rating of pilot at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Okla., on July 23. Wehmeyer attended Egyptian School in Tamms, Ill., before moving to Waterloo, Ill., where he graduated in 1992. Wehmeyer's maternal grandmother, Pauline Jones, lives in Perryville, Mo., and his paternal grandparents, Winston and Blanche Wehmeyer, live in Thebes, Ill. He plans to continue his military career as a pilot of the C-17 transport plane at McChord Air Force Base in Washington.
Amphibious association to meet at Ryan's
A Missouri Amphibious Navy Association meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Ryan's restaurant in Cape Girardeau. Any service member stationed or transported on any U.S. Navy amphibious ship, or their spouse, may attend.
