Missouri Industrial Equipment is observing its 25th anniversary.
The company, a locally owned Nissan Forklift dealership, was founded a quarter-century ago, in 1971, by Don E. Owen.
Owen, president of the company, was joined by his son, Chris Owen, who is now CEO and general manager, in 1972.
MIE became a Nissan Forklift dealer in 1972. Since then, MIE has become dealer for a number of allied lines -- Mustang Skid Steer Loaders, KD Rough Terrain, Condor Platform Lifts and Continental Engines.
"Our service capabilities have expanded over the years," said Don Owen. "We repair industrial batteries, do complete engine rebuilding, and repair hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and other items.
MIE moved to its present location, on a four-acre tract near the intersection of Highway 177 and Highway 61 at Fruitland, in 1980.
