Southeast Missouri Hospital's LifeBeat Air Medical Services has been honored by Bell Helicopter Textron for safety and services.
LifeBeat was cited by Bell Helicopter President Webb Joiner for its completion of 3,000 patient transfers in 5,000 accident-free hours. The air medical service uses a Bell 206 LongRanger turbine powered helicopter provided through an agreement with St. Louis Helicopters.
Southeast Hospital's James W. Wente said LifeBeat, inaugurated at Southeast in August 1987, "is a milestone in the growth of the hospital. LifeBeat is a valuable resource that helps put time on the side of the critically ill or injured."
LifeBeat received about 800 requests for service in 1993, said Wente.
Members of the Cape Girardeau Ferrellgas team were recently recognized for "exemplary performance" throughout fiscal year 1992. Outstanding customer service, enhanced safety procedures and operational advancements were criteria for the award.
The Cape Girardeau office is headed by Roger Pierce, market manager.

Ferrellgas Inc., an independent marketer of propane, provides energy service to 600,000 customers in 45 states. The company operates 50 retail outlets and employs 3,000 people.
"Ways for Lawyers to Thrive, Not Just Survive: Management and Development of Small Law Practices" will be the topic of a continuing legal education program Friday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
The program, originating live at the University of Missouri-Columbia campus, will be available at 16 sites in the state via satellite.
Each site will be equipped for two-way communications with a local host. Lawyers attending the program can receive three hours of Missouri MCLE credit and one hour ethics credit. Fee for the program is $75.
The program will be available at the University Extension Center, Jackson; Chamber of Commerce building, Poplar Bluff; and Black River Electric Co-op, Fredericktown.
Robinson Mechanical Contractors Inc. of Perryville has received a top regional safety award from the Army Corps of Engineers.
The firm received the 1993 Southwestern Division Civil Works Contractor Safety award for outstanding safety while building the new waterborn restrooms in River Road Parks at Clearwater Lake.
No accidents were reported during the entire park project, which involved a total of 4,201 man hours.
Robinson Contractors was nominated for the award by the Little Rock District, which manages Clearwater Lake and more than 20 other lakes in Arkansas and Southern Missouri. The district is part of the Corps' Southwestern Division, which covers eight states.
Robinson is now eligible to compete for the Chief of Engineers' Contractor Safety award in Washington, D.C.
Dollar General Corp. reported record earnings for its fiscal year ended Jan. 31.
Chairman and CEO Cal Turner Jr. said net income for the year was up 36.5 percent, to $48.6 million, following a 23 percent increase in total sales. Earnings per share for the year equaled $1.13 compared to 84 cents last year.
Net income rose to $48.6 million, from $35.6 million last year, as total sales increased to $1.1 billion, from 920.7 million. The company opened 251 new stores and closed 68. At year's end, the company operated 1,800 stores.
Dollar General, headquartered at Nashville, Tenn., operates a store in Cape Girardeau.
