A memorial service for the late U.S. Rep. Bill Emerson will be held Friday morning in Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol in Washington.
A number of congressional and federal dignitaries as well as close friends of the Emerson family are scheduled to attend.
Slated as speakers are House Chaplin Dr. James Ford; House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga; Rep. Paul Kanjorski, D-Pa.; Rep. Pat Roberts, R-Kan.; Rep Ike Skelton, D-Mo.; and Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va.
Emerson, R-Mo., died of lung cancer June 22 at the age of 58.
