Two meetings on hot issues in Cape Girardeau County and the city will take place tonight at the Osage Community Centre.
A public hearing on the Cape Girardeau city government's peripheral zoning proposal -- which would establish an AG-1 zone two miles outside the city's boundaries -- will take place at 7 p.m. City leaders will be on hand to give information about the proposal, which must be approved by the three-member county commission to take effect.
At 6:30 p.m. a meeting concerning the city's noise ordinance will take place at the Osage. City officials and others have been working on drafting a revised noise ordinance for months, spurred by complaints about loud music downtown at the outdoor venue Bel Air.
