MoDOT will host a public meeting focusing on the planned improvements to Route W in Cape Girardeau from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Osage Community Centre. The meeting will be in open house format, so visitors can talk individually to MoDOT personnel working on the project. The area of Route W to be improved goes from Lexington Avenue to the new LaSalle Avenue. Improvements include resurfacing, shoulder improvements, adding centerline and edge line rumble strips, improving the intersections at County Road 620 and Perryville Road and improving drainage. Part of the road will be closed for two weeks while a culvert near County Road 618 is replaced, and work will extend to near County Road 620. For more information, call project manager Andy Meyer at 573-472-5296 or 1-888-275-6636.
