Nationally known conservatives Ed Meese III and M. Stanton Evans will speak at Southeast Missouri State University this month.
Meese will speak at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Evans will speak at 7 p.m. on April 21.
Both events will be held at Academic Hall Auditorium. Admission is free.
Meese served as the nation's attorney general under President Ronald Reagan, from February 1985 to August 1988.
Prior to that, he was counselor to the president from 1981 to 1985.
Throughout Reagan's two terms, Meese was a member of the cabinet and the National Security Council.
Evans directs the National Journalism Center and chairs the Education and Research Institute in Washington, D.C. He also publishes Consumers' Research Magazine.
From 1960 to 1974, Evans served as editor of the Indianapolis News. He has written a number of books.
Meese's lecture is sponsored by Student Government and the Conservative Club. Student Government also is funding Evans' visit.
"We love to bring in these speakers," said Stephanie VanGilder, president of the Conservative Club.
"We basically are still just trying to bring more conservative voices to campus to keep students informed on the conservative side of the issues," she said.
"We have our liberals that are on campus, but I think the majority of the students are fairly conservative," she said.
