Air Force Reserve Maj. Michael K. Ramsey has been named Mentor of the Year. Selection was based on exemplary duty performance, job knowledge, leadership qualities, significant self-improvement, specific achievements, notable accomplishments, and community service and support. Ramsey, a medical laboratory officer, is assigned to the 917th Medical Squadron, Barksdale Air Force Base, Bossier City, La. The major has served in the military for 27 years. He is the brother of William P. Ramsey of Minden, La., and Billy M. Ramsey of Burfordville. In 1967, Ramsey graduated from Woodland High School. He received a bachelor's degree in 1972 from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, La. He earned an additional degree in 1975 from Louisiana Technical University, Ruston.
