Hunter Mayfield is a senior at Meadow Heights High School.
Mayfield has been an FFA member ever since the seventh grade. He is interested in FFA because of all the benefits that come with it. He likes to compete in FFA and help the community through highway cleanups, along with the annual fish fry. His biggest accomplishment in FFA was when he received the Agribusiness Award.
His free time consists of working and hanging out with his friends. Garrett Barks is one of his closest friends, and they hang out when they have free time. He and Barks have made many memories together, including road trips where they went fishing.
Mayfield also enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Lori Kent. He and Kent have known each other for around five years. They met by having a lot of the same classes together. He supports Kent through everything that she does and wants to do. He is a supportive friend and very helpful.
He has his own mowing business during the spring, summer and fall. And he also cuts and trims trees in all four seasons.
Mayfield's plans include operating and owning a heavy equipment company. He is ready to graduate and see what all the future holds for him.
Wyatt Hamlin, the son of Regina and Robert Garland, is a senior at Meadow Heights High School.
During his high school career, Hamlin has been a member of FFA for four years. He has participated in the district-level Grasslands Evaluation Contest and the state-level AG Mechanics Career Development Event.
Hamlin also works as a mechanic at Diamond K Repair. He plans to continue in this trade after high school. According to his boss, Jenny Kent, Hamlin is "a very dependable and capable diesel tech." His favorite part about where he works is getting the opportunity to work on all sorts of different things.
In 10 years, Hamlin sees himself still working as a mechanic and making big money.
In his free time, he enjoys hunting, working on engines, and hanging out with his friends. One of his closest friends, Hunter Mayfield, had a lot of fond memories to share.
"We've been friends since the sixth grade. We spent a lot of that time either tinkering on things together or just riding four-wheelers," Mayfield said. "Wyatt is someone that is easy to get along with."
Hamlin shared one memory from school that he will never forget.
"We were in the fourth grade when Garrett Barks, our grade's class clown, decided to stick a wire in the electrical outlet," Hamlin said. "He tripped a breaker and caused the whole class to erupt in shrieks and laughter. I'll never forget that day."
