The Meadow Heights H.O.P.E. team met on Jan. 22. Discussion was held concerning the "after prom" event. The main concern was how to raise funds if the grant money from the state was not available. It was decided to hold a bake sale during parent\teacher conferences that will be held on Feb. 22.
The H.O.P.E. team is a part of Community 2000. The program initiates community task forces to develop action plans to address alcohol and other drug issues in the community. It also develops, provides and supports healthy alternatives to alcohol and other drug use.
The team would like to invite anyone that is interested in helping our community to attend our next meeting. It will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5 at Meadow Heights school. If you would like further information, please contact the team's chairperson Randy Miller at 866-2838 or Karen Gleeson, at 866-2611.
