McClure woman dies in one-vehicle crash

An Illinois woman died in a car accident Saturday morning near McClure, Illinois.

Illinois State Police determined Edith R. Heise, 34, of McClure lost control of the 2003 GMC Envoy she was driving and ran off the road about a half-mile south of Highway 146 in Alexander County just before 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

After leaving the gravel road, the car rolled several times. Heise, who was determined to have not been wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash has not been determined, and the investigation continues.
